What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Manager, Americas position at Boerboel Trading?
We are hiring an Engineering Manager, Americas to join QIC, a subsidiary of Boerboel. The role will be based in New York, with responsibility for our engineering teams across New York and Chicago.
This is a senior, hands-on engineering leadership role within our quantitative trading technology team. You’ll work closely with our Head of Engineering in London and take ownership of engineering delivery across our US offices.
Our engineering environment spans high-performance C systems, FPGA technology, global exchange connectivity, market data infrastructure and a 10PB historical data platform supporting systematic and high-frequency trading.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- A strong technical/engineering background
- Experience delivering production software within a trading environment
- Experience managing developers across multiple locations
- The technical credibility to challenge estimates, priorities and delivery timelines
- The confidence to block releases or escalate issues when necessary
- The ability to operate autonomously across teams and time zones
Experience with market data, exchange connectivity, low-latency systems, hardware or FPGA delivery would be valuable, but isn’t essential.
This is not a traditional project management or status-reporting role. We’re looking for someone who can get close to the engineering teams, understand the real state of delivery, identify problems early and drive work through to completion.
The role is based onsite in our office in New York, with regular travel to our Chicago office and occasional travel to London.
