The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Flight Test Photographer to join their team in Seattle, WA. This position is responsible for flying in various aircraft and photographing flight test activities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Designs photographic elements to support company branding
- Adapts conventional and specialized equipment to capture and process a range of images for still, instrumentation or scientific imaging
- Plans and performs photography in a studio, field or scientific environment and for high-visibility events
- Fabricates camera mounts, cases and other support equipment to capture images and protect equipment
- Defines image requirements, recommends technical approaches and plans photographic events
- Responsible for acting as an aerial crew member, capturing and editing assigned video and still photographic activities in support of the Boeing Test & Evaluation organization
- Plans and performs videography and photography in a test, studio, field or aerial environment
- Operates conventional and specialized equipment to capture and process a range of images for still, instrumentation or test imaging
- Defines image requirements and plans photographic events
- Test documentation in various company and remote locations
- Communicates and collaborates with team members and all customers: pilots, test team, VIPs, military, etc.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
Required Skills/Experience:
- 1+ year of experience with professional video/photography
- Currently Possess or have the ability to pass a FAA Class II Medical exam
- Willingness to travel 25%; Foreign travel may be required
- Must be able to pass U.S. Navy or U.S. Air Force water survival and physiology training
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Experience working in a dynamic and confined space, up to 4 hours in length
- Experience completing aerial photography in high performance jets
- Experience lifting multimedia equipment
- Experience working in the aerospace/aviation industry
- Experience as a UAS pilot with valid FAA Part 107 operator’s license
- Experience with various professional video cameras: RED, Canon, Sony
- Professional experience with Macintosh / PC computing systems
- Computer peripherals: film scanner, large format printers, file-based servers
- Experience with Video camera documentation, lighting, and audio
- Professional still photography experience with DSLR
- Non-linear HD/4K editing experience (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut Pro) in a file-based environment
- Still Photography Editing experience (Adobe Photoshop, Light room, Bridge)
- Advanced editing and motion graphics experience
- Video ground documentation experience (airport, military base, runway, etc.)
- Studio lighting and audio (video and stills) experience
- High speed videography experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
