The Fabrication Division within Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Experienced Numerical Control Programmer (Level 3), to work in Portland, OR.
This position will require the ability to create Numerical Control (NC) Programs for multi-axis machines, utilizing CATIA V5. Parts to be machined are made from aluminum, steel, titanium, etc. The ideal candidate will be familiar with machining techniques, cutting tools and Machine Control Data (MCD).
Position Responsibilities:
Provides numerical control, machining and programming technical experience
Establishes technical requirements for manufacturing and producibility
Plans, creates, verifies and revises Machine Control Data (MCD), geometry and documentation that directs the operations for a complete spectrum of numerically controlled equipment required to manufacture and inspect parts, tools and assemblies for departmental work
Plans and guides the development and integration of new machining techniques and manufacturing methods, processes, software and equipment
Works under general direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Portland, OR.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3 years of experience in CATIA V5 NC programming and/or machining experience with the ability to learn CATIA V5
Experience with motion simulation software
Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Understanding of probing
Experience as a machinist on a CNC machine
Ability to read, understand and revise MCD
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor 1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.) Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.
