Responsibilities
- Lead high-energy group fitness classes including disciplines such as kickboxing, cycling, Pilates, yoga, dance, CrossFit, and other specialized formats.
- Develop innovative class programs that incorporate principles of physiology, body mechanics, and anatomy to maximize effectiveness and safety.
- Demonstrate proper techniques and modifications to accommodate participants of varying skill levels and physical abilities.
- Motivate members through enthusiastic coaching, clear instruction, and positive reinforcement to ensure an enjoyable experience.
- Monitor participant safety during classes by observing form and providing guidance to prevent injuries.
- Maintain a clean, organized workout space and ensure all equipment is used correctly and safely.
- Promote membership engagement by encouraging participation in additional programs such as personal training or fitness sales opportunities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching group fitness classes with certifications in areas such as Yoga, Pilates, Cycling, or Sports Coaching preferred.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, body mechanics, and program design to tailor classes effectively.
- Certifications in Kickboxing or CrossFit are highly desirable; additional expertise in dancing or sports coaching is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to instruct clearly and motivate diverse groups.
- Previous experience in a gym or health club environment is advantageous.
- Ability to demonstrate proper techniques for various fitness modalities including yoga, Pilates, cycling, and high-intensity training.
