Position Summary
Based in Wichita, Kansas the Supervisor will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the General Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed.

Position Summary

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.
- Champion operations safety first culture by actively engaging team members, monitoring work practices, coaching observed at-risk behaviors, and driving continuous improvement practices in terms of safety risk reduction.
- Demonstrate servant leadership by actively engaging with employees on the floor and removing barriers to their success.
- Responsible for operations oversight including but not limited to:
- Assign, direct, and adjust work assignments to ensure efficient labor utilization and achievement of daily production goals.
- Adjust and communicate work schedules as needed to meet customer requirements, expedite requests, or manage unplanned disruptions.
- Coordinate and align production schedules with other shifts or departments to ensure operational efficiency is maximized while satisfying customer needs.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners including Quality, Maintenance, Customer Service, and Sales Account manager(s) to resolve issues and maintain workflow continuity.
- Lead the team and maintain personal active involvement and leadership in continuous improvement efforts, rapid root cause investigations, daily 5S, Kaizen action workouts, etc.
- Holds self and team members accountable for performance, attendance, safety, and procedural compliance. Documenting observations, conversations, and progressive disciplinary actions when applicable.
- Keeps close track of work in progress and regularly confers with foreman and/or management staff.
- When needed or required, operates and monitors heat treating equipment.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by direct manager.
- May have access to compensation information of other employees or applicants in this role and as such cannot disclose the pay of other employees or applicants to other individuals.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- Education: High school diploma and post-secondary technical training or coursework in manufacturing, metallurgy, or engineering is a plus. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including prior supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise hourly employees by exhibiting strong leadership behaviors such as active listening, observation, patience, objectivity, accountability, and responsiveness.
- Working knowledge of heat treating processes, metallurgy, temperatures, and aerospace/commercial materials preferred, or the ability to quickly develop this knowledge through training.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Minimum six months experience with ERP systems
- Must be willing and able to work overtime or any shift as needed, including weekends.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Experience in heat treating, thermal processing, metals manufacturing, aerospace processing, or related industries is strongly preferred.
- Experience working in regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environments (e.g., aerospace, ISO, NADCAP, AS9100, etc.) preferred.
- Must be able to work in a standing and/or sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
