Position Summary: This position is able to be based within the US. Under the direction of the Global VP Sales and Business Development, the Account Manager is responsible for driving the sales growth of Powdermet® Near Net Shape (NNS) products by identifying and securing new business opportunities in both existing markets/customers as well as new applications across the Defense and Energy (Oil and Gas, Nuclear) and Power Generation Sectors in North America. This person will employ a hands-on, problem-solving, technical approach to application development. It is a significant opportunity to enter a profitable, high-tech business and participate in the building of that business. This person will build pipeline opportunities while closing existing ones, driving and accelerating the growth engine of our business in North America.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following.
- Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key customer stakeholders, potential customers, and executive sponsors.
- Work together with the Global VP Sales, NA PF Operations team, and Technical Sales Manager to develop and execute the Powdermet growth strategy and marketing plan for the defined market sectors.
- Conduct sales calls, attend Trade Shows and industry conferences, receive and respond to phone and website inquiries from customers and potential customers
- Create coherent, credible, and comprehensive value-based NNS HIP Solutions targeted at key growth opportunities, underpinned by a detailed understanding of customer and market needs (technical, logistical, service, environmental, etc.)
- Develop and deliver quotations and provide clarification of customer requirements. Build, manage, and track a pipeline of new business opportunities, from initial customer contact through to conversion to ongoing profitable business.
- Drive sales to meet budget and strategic plan revenue/profit targets.
- Partnering with employees at the plant level to monitor progress of work to meet customer expectations, develop answers to technical product questions, and any other aspects of the product necessary to facilitate scale-up and commercialization.
- Present technology to technical groups and organizations and become a subject matter expert.
- Collate and obtain competitor intelligence to build a detailed understanding of the technical, operational, and economic strengths, capabilities, and limitations of other competition providers, as well as for competing technologies.
- Manage contractual agreements and negotiate terms of business, including pricing.
- Will have access to proprietary and third-party information necessary to the business, and as such will perform duties in an ethical and professional manner
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; therefore, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident cardholders.
- Education – High school education or equivalent; college degree preferred.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language with strong presentation and communication skills.
- Experience necessary – Ten years in technical sales, product management, or business development in a related field/market sector.
- Strategic business and marketing experience
- Knowledge of materials, with a good understanding of customer engineering and supplier sourcing decision-making processes
- Appreciation of HIP processes and capabilities, and an understanding of competing processes such as casting and forging, would be an advantage
- Demonstrate good judgment in fostering positive customer relationships
- Exercise tact and ability to partner with the customer to resolve issues
- Problem-solving skills to meet customer expectations
- Strong Communication skills with employees at all levels to achieve the goal of exceptional customer service
- Advocate for the quality of our products and services through strong Value-Based Selling competence
- At all times, conduct in accordance with Bodycote policies and procedures
- Commitment to ethics in all interactions
- Excellent IT skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Must possess or be able to develop a working knowledge of the Bodycote Quality Manual and Bodycote Policy Manual
