KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Summary:

Body Energy Club is seeking a hands-on, people-first Regional Store Manager to open and lead our Chicago-area Equinox smoothie bar locations (currently 2–4 stores), including monthly brand-standards audits across up to four locations. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, leads with accountability and heart, and is comfortable balancing in-store operations with multi-location oversight — driving team growth, managing budgets, and executing sales and marketing initiatives to deliver strong results.

This is a central, hands-on leadership role: all day-to-day administrative, operational, and people-management responsibility for the Chicago locations sits with this position rather than with the Franchise Owners. The scope and expectations of this role are evolving and may be adjusted as the Franchise Owners deem appropriate.

Leadership & Team Culture:

● Manage and support Smoothie Masters on shift (typically 2–3 team members, subject to change with seasonal volume and location) with hands-on leadership during service, including overseeing the till and store safety and security while smoothies are being made.

● Provide and promote an outstanding customer service experience for customers and staff alike, including training and upholding the team's customer service standards.

● Manage all team members at each location, providing leadership and vision grounded in the company's core values.

● Train team members and hold them accountable for knowing and executing all store processes in alignment with company standards and expectations.

● Effectively delegate tasks to team members to drive employee engagement and smoothie bar efficiency.

● Monitor staff skills and professional behavior and provide feedback to management as necessary.

● Ensure team members remain engaged with and greeting customers in the front of house, rather than in the back of house, and complete their assigned tasks accordingly.

● Ensure staff present themselves professionally at all times — wearing proper uniform/attire, not using headphones or phones during shifts, and not sitting in the front or back of house — and enforce company uniform, appearance, and dress code standards.

Hiring, Training & Development:

● Own all aspects of hiring and training for team members at every location, from recruitment and interviewing through onboarding and ongoing development.

● Complete full-lifecycle training for entry-level roles, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring a positive new-hire experience.

● Create, maintain, and continually update a written training guide covering every in-store role, procedure, and standard; own both the training content and how it is delivered, and ensure every team member is trained against it.

● Develop and track training modules for completed training areas, and train staff on updated operational policies and procedures as they are communicated.

● Strategize with the Franchise Owners during master schedule reviews to identify candidates ready for promotion or in need of further training and development.

● Support Franchise Owners with post-training interviews to strengthen retention.

● Once trained, process payroll for all Chicago locations, including collecting and reviewing employee timesheets.

Scheduling & Staffing:

● Own the master schedule for all Chicago locations — build and publish the schedule, manage time-off requests, and confirm that every shift at every location is staffed.

● Manage scheduled labor hours within the company's approved labor budget, adjusting staffing levels as needed to control labor cost.

● Ensure team members report for shifts on time and every location opens on time; address attendance and punctuality issues directly, promptly, and consistently.

● Serve as the first point of coverage for open shifts, seven days a week: secure coverage from another qualified team member where possible, and personally work the shift when it cannot be covered otherwise.

● Support all Chicago locations with leave and coverage across all seven days of the week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Store Operations & Customer Experience:

● Lead day-to-day store operations and deliver strong financial results.

● Ensure all daily, weekly, monthly, and supervisor tasks — from opening through closing — are completed in a timely manner, following up with employees as needed; personally complete any tasks not finished by staff.

● Audit daily checklists while on shift to confirm they are being completed correctly by staff, in addition to required self-audits and corporate/Equinox inspections (see Compliance & Reporting).

● Troubleshoot customer concerns or complaints related to smoothies or orders, escalating more serious cases to management and supporting resolution.

● Deliver quality smoothies to customers, confirming order accuracy including customer name, protein type, and requested customizations.

● Maintain a food-safe and sanitary environment, and ensure team members properly clean all equipment used to produce smoothies and bowls — blenders, machines, knives, spoons, and other tools.

● Maintain the cleanliness, condition, and upkeep of every location — including equipment, storage areas, and shared spaces — to both Body Energy Club and Equinox standards.

● Step behind the bar to perform production work as needed during rush periods, callouts, staffing gaps, or any other situation requiring it.

● Serve as key holder for all Chicago locations, responsible for alarm codes, safe access, and secure opening and closing procedures.

Inventory, Ordering & Financial Controls:

● Own ordering and inventory management for all locations — product, supplies, and storage — with accuracy and forward planning that minimizes the need for inter-store transfers; place orders directly for any store that does not order for itself.

● Support receiving of product deliveries and put products away as needed; manage, transfer, and cover product shortages between locations in a timely manner.

● Coordinate and execute inter-store product transfers when required, including arranging logistics and confirming the transfer is recorded correctly.

● Conduct month-end inventory counts and record results in both the POS system and the tracking sheet.

● Monitor and account for inventory shrinkage and loss, distinguishing legitimate waste from unexplained loss, and address any loss-prevention concerns.

● Own cash handling, register reconciliation, and bank deposits for all Chicago locations, ensuring discrepancies are identified, documented, and resolved promptly.

● Oversee all smoothie bar ordering and tracking, and train staff on the accurate, timely upkeep of sales, waste, and other required tracking systems.

Marketing & Events:

● Contribute to the effective marketing and rollout of new smoothies and other operational and policy updates.

● Assist in planning and organizing events held for Body Energy Club.

Compliance, Audits & Reporting:

● Ensure every audit, walkthrough, inspection, and checklist administered by Equinox or Body Energy Club corporate is completed on time and passed; act on any feedback received and confirm closeout with the requesting party.

● Conduct and document required daily, weekly, and monthly self-audits of store operations, cleanliness, and compliance.

● Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all recurring reporting, including daily and weekly sales reports, marketing data, opening and closing checklists, closing reports, and fridge photos.

● Provide the Franchise Owners with a recurring written status report summarizing store performance, staffing, outstanding issues, and completed tasks.

● Own every administrative task required to operate the Chicago locations, whether required by Body Energy Club corporate or by Equinox. This is a central expectation of the role and is not delegated upward to the Franchise Owners.

Communication & Stakeholder Relations:

● Serve as the primary point of contact for Equinox General Managers and Assistant General Managers, Body Energy Club corporate franchise partners, vendors, suppliers, customers, and staff at each location — responding to requests and concerns promptly and professionally.

● Maintain open, ongoing communication (by email and in person) with Equinox GMs/AGMs, BEC corporate franchise partners, vendors, suppliers, customers, and any other party directed by the Franchise Owners, to ensure operations meet expected standards and to address any concerns.

● Communicate all operational, product, and policy instructions to the team clearly and in writing, and confirm they have been received, understood, and followed.

● Complete all tasks assigned directly by the Franchise Owners, as well as any follow-up arising from emails they forward, promptly and in full.

● Participate in calls with the Franchise Owners and address any issues raised during those calls.

● Communicate with Franchise Owners in a respectful, professional manner at all times, including when responding to questions or being assigned a task.

● Be reachable and responsive seven days a week. You are effectively on call and are expected to reply to calls, texts, and messages from Franchise Owners, BEC corporate, Equinox, vendors, suppliers, customers, and team members promptly rather than at your convenience — you are the central point of communication for the Chicago locations, and matters are expected to route through you.

Performance Management & Confidentiality:

● Administer performance management for team members, including verbal and written corrective action, and participate in termination decisions in coordination with the Franchise Owners.

● Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll, personnel, and financial information at all times.

● If any duties outlined in this description are not completed by employees, the Regional Store Manager is responsible for completing the task in its entirety and in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications & Availability:

● Full-time role requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week in person, plus a minimum of 6 hours per week working on-site at each individual Chicago location (including cleaning and general upkeep of that location).

● Flexible schedule availability required seven days a week, generally within business operating hours of 6:00 AM–9:30 PM (subject to change by season and location).

● First point of contact for staff callouts and responsible for covering shifts as needed; two guaranteed days off per week (Monday and Tuesday), with on-call availability the remaining five days.

● Able to come in on short notice for on-call situations, including employee-relations matters, and to lead by example in supporting team members.

● Maintain constant punctual attendance and contribute to positive team morale

● May be required to transfer to or pick up shifts at other Body Energy Club locations.
