Department: Word Processing
Location: Detroit, MI
We are looking for a full-time evening word processor for our Detroit office.
Position hours are Monday – Friday, 12pm – 8pm
Key Responsibilities
Type, edit and transcribe legal documents and handwritten materials received from attorneys and their assistants in a busy law office. Proofread and redline documents to ensure accuracy of material, grammar and punctuation.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Previous experience of 2-5 years in a legal or professional environment preferred.
- Must possess excellent typing skills; proficient in Microsoft Word, including styling.
- Knowledge of legal terms preferred.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to proofread typed material for grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
- Must be self-motivated, with the ability to work quickly, efficiently and confidently without close supervision.
