Bodine Electric Company is looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, diagnosing equipment issues, and finding long-term solutions that improve equipment reliability and uptime.
Our maintenance team supports a wide variety of CNC machining centers, grinders, hobbers, lathes, automation equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and production support equipment. We're looking for someone who takes pride in solving difficult problems and helping keep our manufacturing operations running efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot production equipment to minimize downtime and restore equipment to service quickly.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot motors, drives, PLCs, sensors, relays, solenoids, transformers, contactors, and electrical control systems.
- Repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Research replacement parts and repair solutions for legacy and obsolete equipment.
- Work with outside service providers when specialized repairs are required.
- Help identify root causes of recurring equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
We're Looking For Someone With
- Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience maintaining CNC machine tools and automated production equipment.
- Knowledge of industrial electrical systems including single-phase, three-phase, 110V, 220V, and 480V systems.
- Experience reading electrical schematics and ladder logic.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, drives, input/output systems, sensors, switches, and control circuits.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Welding, brazing, and fabrication experience.
- Good computer skills for researching technical information, documenting repairs, and communicating with team members.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment independently while also working collaboratively with production personnel.
- A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Experience
Experience troubleshooting or repairing industrial equipment such as:
- CNC lathes and machining centers
- Grinders
- Hobbers and gear manufacturing equipment
- Automated production equipment
- Heat-treat or carburizing equipment
- Industrial electrical control systems
Experience with machine brands such as Mazak, Mori Seiki, Okuma, Haas, Koepfer, Eurotech, J-TEKT/Toyoda, or similar industrial equipment is a plus.
