Role Overview
A leading healthcare facilities services organization is seeking a Facilities Energy Manager to support energy efficiency, sustainability, and carbon reduction initiatives across a large, multi-site healthcare environment. This role works closely with senior energy leadership and supports critical facilities operating 24/7.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of enterprise-level energy management strategies
- Create and implement site-specific energy management plans across multiple healthcare facilities
- Manage and coordinate third-party consultants and service providers delivering energy-related services
- Assist with regulatory compliance and reporting related to energy performance and emissions reduction requirements
- Conduct energy assessments, retro-commissioning activities, and system optimization initiatives
- Identify, develop, and deliver energy conservation and efficiency projects
- Establish and manage measurement and verification approaches to ensure performance and savings accuracy
- Collect, analyze, and report energy and utility data to track performance against defined goals
- Collaborate with facilities, engineering, and operations teams to integrate energy initiatives into daily operations and capital projects
- Support the management of energy and utility budgets
- Oversee metering and sub-metering strategies
- Identify and secure utility incentives, rebates, and funding opportunities
- Develop technical and financial analyses to support energy investment decisions
- Stay current on emerging energy technologies, tools, and industry best practices
- Provide energy support across multiple hospital or healthcare locations as needed
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in energy management, facilities engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and lighting systems, as well as building automation platforms (BAS/BMS)
- Experience using energy benchmarking and performance tracking tools (e.g., ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager or similar)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present technical and financial information to diverse stakeholders
Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Professional energy credential required (CEM or CEA)
- Measurement & Verification certification (CMVP) preferred
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
