We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Morning Part-time Deli Hand to join our vibrant food service team. As a key team member, you will assist in preparing fresh deli items, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and providing excellent service to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli area, ensuring all surfaces, utensils, and equipment meet food safety standards.
- Assist with food handling duties such as portioning, weighing, packaging, and labeling products accurately to completion per scheduled shift.
- Support meal preparation tasks by assembling ingredients and ensuring freshness for daily service.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service by answering questions and taking orders through the POS register system.
- Follow all food safety protocols and hygiene practices to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure the deli is well-equipped for daily operations.
- If able to handle general cashiering duties to provide customer service.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with basic deli/food handler techniques are highly desirable
- Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and safety regulations within the food industry
- Ability to stand for extended periods during morning shifts and perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving supplies
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, safety, and quality standards
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with team members and customers
- Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs. regularly throughout shifts
- Ability to be mobile in walk-in refrigerator with temperatures ranging from 40° F to 30° F
- Ability to stand, bend, reach and scoop through-out assigned shift
