Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager will assist Project managers and Estimators on the Construction Special Projects Team with managing and coordinating all the necessary resources and documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist Projects Team with day-to-day administrative tasks such as data entry, communicating with subcontractors, and scheduling.
- Communicate with team regarding RFI’s and submittals.
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and have quotes updated as needed.
- Responsible for procurement of materials. Ensure the profit margin is maintained and that purchase orders are accurately written.
- Assist with the development, maintenance, and updating of project schedules.
- Secure Building Permits and any other permits required for each project.
- Support the construction documentation process by maintaining organized project files.
- Continuously monitor all project costs
- Assist with change orders.
- Prepare and deliver all project closeout documents, including warranties, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, “As-Built” drawings, and system training.
- Provide support for office personnel, assisting with clerical functions.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Project Management for various types of commercial construction projects
- Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other related field a plus
- Basic understanding of the design and construction project lifecycle
- Previous experience working with a general contractor or trades industry preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills as well as interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently as well as with a team.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable with multi-tasking
- An overall sense of urgency to get the job done.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with NetSuite ERP System preferred.
