Position Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced IP Prosecution Docketing Clerk to join our Intellectual Property practice. This fully remote position plays a critical role in managing a high-volume docket of patent, trademark, and copyright matters (approximately 50% trademark, 40% patent, 10% copyright). The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on IP docketing experience, with a strong preference for those proficient in AppColl.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily docketing of U.S. and foreign IP prosecution correspondence, including USPTO, WIPO, and foreign associate communications.
- Accurately calculate and calendar deadlines for office actions, annuities, renewals, and more using AppColl.
- Generate customized docket reports and ensure data integrity across platforms (AppColl, Clio).
- Support attorneys and paralegals by proactively communicating deadlines and potential issues.
- Assist with electronic filings and portfolio transfers.
- Train new team members on docketing procedures and stay current on IP law changes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of IP prosecution docketing experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Strong proficiency in AppColl (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international IP prosecution rules and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and legal practice management tools (e.g., Clio).
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
Work Environment
- 100% remote (U.S.-based).
- Must have a professional, distraction-free home workspace.
- Availability during standard business hours, with flexibility for occasional evenings/weekends.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000-$95,000, based on experience and location.
