Part-Time Kennel Technician / Reception Assistant
Bocage Animal Hospital is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Part-Time Kennel Technician who is also comfortable assisting at the front desk. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with both animals and people in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
Schedule:
Applicants must be available to work:
- Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Some weekends: Weekend boarding shifts are split, requiring you to come in once in the morning to care for boarding pets and return in the evening for their second round of care.
- Patience & Compassion: Remaining professional while still making Doctors, teammates, clients, and patients feel as comfortable as possible regardless of the situation or challenges presented.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Carefully coordinating actions with practice team members. Quickly incorporating feedback to ensure positive results. Sharing ideas and being open to other’s ideas. Continually looking for ways to help others.
- Communicating: Conveying boarding outcomes to clients and teammates to ensure successful client care.
- Active Listening: Following the expressed wishes of clients.
- Client Satisfaction: Ensuring all activities and interactions result in the highest level of client satisfaction.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care for boarding and hospitalized pets, including feeding, walking, cleaning, and monitoring their well-being.
- Maintain clean and sanitary kennels, treatment areas, and hospital facilities.
- Assist the veterinary team as needed.
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally and schedule appointments.
- Greet clients and assist with check-in and check-out.
- Provide excellent customer service both in person and over the phone.
- Help maintain an organized and welcoming reception area.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Ability to work on weekends as required
- Previous veterinary experience preferred
- Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients over 25 pounds with assistance
- Practices OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
