Duties
- Perform automotive structural repairs, including frame straightening and sheet metal work, utilizing welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and soldering.
- Use automotive welding equipment and power tools to repair or replace damaged body panels, chassis components, and other structural parts.
- Fabricate custom parts and repair sheet metal using fabrication techniques, ensuring precise fitment and finish.
- Conduct auto body repairs including dent removal, sanding, auto painting with airless paint spraying systems, and automotive cosmetic repairs to achieve a high-quality finish.
- Install automotive parts such as auto glass, trim pieces, bumpers, and other components with attention to detail and safety standards.
- Utilize auto estimating tools to assess damage accurately and communicate repair needs effectively with customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols during heavy lifting and the use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repair processes clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the repair journey.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive body technician with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency in auto body repair techniques including welding (MIG welding), fabrication, sanding tools, auto painting, and automotive cosmetic repair.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for effective diagnostics and repairs.
- Skilled in working with sheet metal, automotive structural repair, auto restoration, and automotive dent repair.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and parts installation procedures.
- Ability to operate welding equipment safely and efficiently; experience with soldering and fabrication repair techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive parts installation procedures including auto glass replacement.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and providing top-tier customer service.
