Position Title: Waste Coordinator
Position Summary: Waste Coordinator will be responsible for all waste that the building produces. Collect, consolidate, and dispose of all bakery and warehouse waste, broken pallets, corrugated totes, cardboard and any other waste items that are generated in the daily operations of the facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Commit to proper GMPs and Sanitation Practices
- Receive training on proper practices
- Remove trash throughout the warehouse, production floor, and waste/recycle area
- Ability to load trucks with a forklift for Reuse and Recycle purposes
- Remove broken pallets from production and stage them in a recycle trailer
- Break down corrugated totes (Coconut Oil, Brown Rice Syrup, Sun Flower Oil) with a box cutter and skill saw
- Dispose of trash into our trash compactor
- Operate a cardboard compactor
- Record data related to waste management program
- Maintain a clean work area
- Additional duties as assigned in support of waste management
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Qualifications:
- Must be detail-oriented and observant.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to form rapport with employees.
- Ability to work with minimal oversight
- Must be able to operate a forklift and various power tools
- Must be vigilant
Education / Experience Desired:
- Prior experience with food processing desired.
- HS Diploma or GED
Language / Mathematical / Reasoning Ability:
- Must be able to speak clearly and effectively.
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Supervision Given:
- This position will report to the Director of Environmental, Health & Safety
- The position holder is expected to be able to work with minimal oversight, able to confidently handle situations on their own.
