Position Title: R&D Technician

Compensation and Benefits:
· Wage range is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Position Summary:
This position will support Bobo’s R&D initiatives alongside the Senior Manager of R&D. Main tasks will include hands-on prototype development and testing and supporting new product launches and product improvement projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist R&D Manager in R&D recipe development and testing in bench top lab setting
- Develop R&D samples for internal and external use in accordance with GMPs
- Monitor all R&D samples and ingredients, documents, receiving, inventory and organization
- Weigh, oversee and keep track of ingredients for benchtop and production testing
- Measure and perform analytical testing including moisture, water activity, and texture analysis for new and existing products
- Assist with Production trials for new and existing products
- Maintain and develop records for new and existing product specifications
- Conduct routine packaging reviews to ensure accuracy and maintain records of packaging submission
- Follows detailed instructions and works independently with light supervision
- Follow all Safety and FSQA guidelines in areas of work
Qualifications / Education / Experience Desired:
· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field or experience working in a food laboratory setting is preferred
· Working knowledge of food manufacturing and quality is preferred
· Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Language / Mathematical / Reasoning Ability:
· Strong passion for science and creative problem solving
· Must be able to write and speak, both clearly and effectively
· Detail oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills
· Self-motivated with flexibility for changing objectives and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with simultaneous projects deadlines
Supervision Given:
· This position will report to the R&D Director
· This position is expected to be able to work with minimal oversight at times, and be able to confidently handle situations on their own
· The backup for the R&D Technician is the R&D Director
