Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily dispatch activities for freight movement, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries across multiple locations.
- Utilize transportation management systems, to plan routes, track shipments, and manage freight data entry accurately.
- Monitor fleet operations using GPS and GIS technologies to optimize routes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, mechanics, and dispatchers through multi-line phone systems and professional phone etiquette.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, driver logs, and incident reports; perform data analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, shipping & receiving protocols, and company policies related to fleet management.
- Support transportation planning efforts by analyzing supply chain data and coordinating with logistics teams to meet delivery schedules.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills with a professional phone etiquette; capable of handling multi-line phone systems efficiently.
- Solid analysis skills to interpret logistics data, optimize routes, and improve dispatching strategies.
- Experience with freight coordination, shipping & receiving procedures, and fleet management practices.
- Ability to operate various software tools including transportation management software, shipping & receiving platforms, and logistics analysis programs.
