Role Description This full-time, on-site Service Mechanic role is based in Union City, TN and focuses on maintaining and repairing mowers and heavy equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine and preventive maintenance, completing repairs according to manufacturer standards, and documenting all service activities. The Service Mechanic will inspect equipment for safety and performance, order and install replacement parts, and ensure tools and work areas are maintained in a clean and organized condition. The role also involves communicating clearly with customers and team members about repair needs, timelines, and equipment status, while following all workplace safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Field Service skills, including on-site customer support and the ability to work independently in varying conditions.
- Experience with Heavy Equipment operation and service, ideally including Bobcat or similar construction and agricultural machinery.
- Maintenance & Repair abilities, covering mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems on commercial or industrial equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance knowledge, including scheduled inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshooting capabilities for identifying root causes of equipment issues using diagnostic tools, manuals, and technical documentation.
- Strong commitment to safety practices and adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, service manuals, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Effective communication skills and customer-focused attitude when explaining service needs and repair options.
- Relevant technical training or certification in diesel technology, heavy equipment mechanics, or related fields is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to lift and handle heavy components as required by the role.
