The Diesel Truck Mechanic Trainee works alongside experienced diesel technicians to learn and assist in the maintenance and repair of semi-trucks, diesel engines, and on-road fleet vehicles. This is a hands-on role designed for someone who wants to build a long-term career working on heavy-duty diesel trucks.
What You’ll Do
- Learn diesel engine systems including fuel, electrical, emissions, and systems
- Work side-by-side with experienced diesel mechanics on semi-trucks and fleet vehicles
- Build foundational diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Assist with routine maintenance on diesel trucks (oil changes, filters, batteries, fluids)
- Support inspections and preventative maintenance on semi-trucks and trailers
- Assist with moving trucks in and out of the shop safely
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support technicians, drivers, and service team as needed
