Founded by former MLB player and manager Bobby Valentine, our academy aims to inspire athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field.
Job Description:
We are currently seeking passionate and experienced coaches to join our team at Bobby Valentine's Sports Academy. As a coach, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch instruction, mentorship, and guidance to our athletes. You will work closely with players of various ages and skill levels, helping them develop their technical abilities, strategic understanding, and overall athleticism in a positive and supportive environment.
Coaching opportunities will occur either on-site at our location in Stamford, CT or at a local outdoor field. All coaches will be provided in-depth knowledge through BVSA's Coaching Certification Program.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Private Lessons, Group Clinic's, Team Training on site and within the local area.
- Provide expert instruction in fundamental skills, advanced techniques, and game strategies relevant to baseball and/or softball.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and fellow coaches to ensure alignment and support in achieving goals.
- Act as a role model and mentor, instilling values of dedication, discipline, and resilience in our athletes.
- Stay current with industry trends, coaching methodologies, and best practices to continuously enhance BVSA's coaching curriculum.
- Assist with organizational tasks, such as scheduling, equipment management, and facility upkeep, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must pass Bobby Valentine's Sports Academy's in-house Coaches Certification Program (Provided by BVSA)
- Previous coaching experience in baseball and/or softball, preferably at the youth, high school, or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of the rules, techniques, and strategies of the respective sport(s).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with athletes of all ages.
- Passion for teaching and developing young athletes, with a focus on holistic skill enhancement.
- Positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for creating a supportive learning environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate training schedules and competitions.
- Valid certifications/licenses related to coaching and/or first aid/CPR (preferred but not required).
