Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and portioning produce, meats, and other items according to menu specifications
- Assist in cooking and assembling dishes following established recipes and presentation standards
- Support menu planning by organizing ingredients and ensuring timely food preparation for service periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination
- Assist with catering orders and special event meal preparations as needed
- Support the kitchen team during busy periods by providing efficient food preparation assistance
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is preferred but not mandatory; a passion for food service is essential
- Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, knife handling, and meal assembly
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in restaurant or kitchen environments within the food industry is highly desirable
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
