Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with menu selections, ensuring a positive dining experience
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Toast POS, ensuring swift processing of transactions
- Prepare and serve food items according to quality standards, including basic food preparation and food handling procedures
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, credit card processing, and balancing cash drawers at shift end
- Upsell menu items and suggestive selling to increase sales and enhance customer satisfaction
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, dining spaces, and food prep zones in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning dining areas, and restocking supplies to ensure efficient service flow
- Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, sanitation, and kitchen operations to uphold health regulations
- Support team members during busy periods by providing excellent customer service and efficient order fulfillment
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner to foster loyalty and encourage repeat visits
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or quick-service restaurant environments; restaurant experience is highly valued
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient transaction processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and order totaling
- Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with upselling techniques to boost sales opportunities
- Kitchen experience or culinary background is a plus for understanding food preparation processes
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours without compromising quality or service
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
