Hope Valley Country Club, located in Durham, North Carolina, and managed by Bobby Jones Links, was founded in 1926. Hope Valley is an elite private club featuring a classic Donald Ross designed golf course, state-of-the-art tennis facility, resort-style pool complex, and a spacious, welcoming clubhouse offering its members first-class recreation, dining, and programming. Hope Valley is ideally situated in the heart of one of Southeast’s most vibrant, exciting areas.
Hope Valley Country Club is seeking friendly, detail-oriented Banquet Servers to provide exceptional service for club events. This role is ideal for hospitality professionals who enjoy creating memorable guest experiences in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the complete setup and breakdown of banquet and event spaces
- Read and execute all specifications listed on Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
- Circulate throughout events serving trays of appetizers and beverages
- Serve and refill alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a professional manner
- Follow safe work practices and proper food handling standards
- Communicate any service issues or guest concerns to a supervisor promptly

Job Requirements
- No prior banquet or serving experience required — we are happy to train the right candidate
- Friendly, positive attitude with a willingness to provide excellent service
- Ability to listen, learn, and follow directions for event setup and service
- Strong teamwork skills and a desire to help where needed
- Basic understanding of food and beverage service, or willingness to learn
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and guests
- Willingness to follow food safety guidelines and safe work practices
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events
- Ability to lift and carry trays, chairs, and event equipment (up to approximately 25–30 lbs)
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance
- Alcohol service certification preferred, but can be obtained after hire
