We are looking for a passionate, motivated, and energetic leader with a strong background in retail management to join our team as the Footwear Sales Department Manager in our Bozeman store! Ideal candidates will have experience across multiple footwear categories—from walking shoes to hunting boots—and be comfortable leading a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
In this role, you’ll spend most of your time as an active and visible leader—motivating, directing, and coaching a team of 7–8 staff members while ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction are achieved. You must be detail-oriented, capable of completing tasks within assigned time frames, and confident in giving clear direction.
You will report directly to the Store Manager and oversee the footwear sales team, working closely with top outdoor brands. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position and will include weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities
- Lead by example with a strong, visible presence on the sales floor
- Motivate, coach, and develop team members to meet and exceed sales goals
- Manage and oversee the footwear department team, including employee scheduling and new hire training
- Guide and promote team and individual development and engagement
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor to the highest standards
- Prepare the department for promotions, ensuring signage is accurate and displays are well-executed
- Oversee footwear replenishment to ensure proper inventory levels
- Stay current on the latest footwear, sports, and outdoor trends and technology
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by delivering exceptional service and product knowledge
- Execute store opening and closing procedures
- Collaborate with top vendors and internal teams to support department goals
- Contribute to overall store success by accomplishing related tasks and projects as needed
- Perform all other duties as assigned
