Key Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Operates forklift around packaging lines and in the warehouse.
- Concurrently meets the needs of up to 3 production lines.
- Assesses status of order to check order ratio and identifies inaccuracies.
- Moves supplies and bulk product to packaging lines and acts proactively to anticipate station needs.
- Utilizes the RF Scanner to allocate components, report on components, and returns excess to warehouse.
- Keeps packaging rooms clean and orderly and completes end-of-shift checklist to ensure standards are kept.
- Removes finished pallets from packaging lines and loads onto transfer trailer.
- Identifies and corrects issues and inaccuracies.
- Escalates errors quickly to leads and assists with remediation.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
- Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations, Safe Quality Food (SQF) Standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
- None.
- This position reports to the Production Supervisor and Packaging Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Ability to follow exact procedures and protocols.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Possesses communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively with a team using direct communication and respect.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Ability to remain alert and aware of surroundings.
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate operational and safety information in English.
- Demonstrates Respect, Teamwork, Accountability, and Determination.
- Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present.
- 1 or more years of experience in a warehouse or production environment, AND
- High school diploma or equivalent; OR
- Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Frequently requires the ability to lift and stack products weighing up to 55 pounds.
- Position may require standing for long periods of time.
- Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- The primary work environment for this position is within the production and warehouse areas of the facility. Temperatures may vary in different areas of the facility.
- Employees will be exposed to common food allergens.
