Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Dock Hand Assistant to join our marina team. This is a hands-on position responsible for assisting with daily marina operations, providing excellent service to boaters, and helping keep the docks and marina grounds clean, safe, and well-maintained.The ideal candidate is reliable, enjoys working outdoors, and is comfortable performing a variety of physical tasks. Responsibilities
- Assist customers with fueling boats and safely filling boats with gasoline
- Move, position, and assist with docking and launching boats as needed
- Assist boat owners and marina staff with general dockside needs
- Remove garbage and maintain clean and orderly dock areas
- Maintain marina grounds, including general cleanup and yard maintenance
- Keep docks, walkways, and common areas clean and safe
- Assist with general marina maintenance and miscellaneous tasks
- Help with seasonal marina preparation and cleanup
- Monitor and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service to marina guests and boat owners
- Follow all marina safety procedures and guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience
- Previous marina, boating, dock, or outdoor maintenance experience is a plus, but will train the right candidate
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to safely handle boats and dock equipment
- Dependable, punctual, and hardworking
- Strong attention to safety and cleanliness
- Friendly and professional when interacting with customers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Valid driver's license required
