Assembly Equipment Operator

Job Overview
The primary responsibility of the Assembly Equipment Operator is to put-away built/unbuilt assembly product to the proper location, pick product to be assembled and pick chairs to be shipped. Other responsibilities include:

• Count received product to verify inventory accuracy.
• Identify space needs and make appropriate adjustments such as double stack pallets of product to save space using a pallet stacker.
• Relocate staged material to proper locations.
• Use RF scanner to make inventory movement entries.
• Pick product for Cross Dock deliveries.
• Document picked product for assembly stats by builder.
• Audit locations for inventory accuracy.
• Maintain proper appearance of assembly room including:
  • Pallets: Sorted and stacked neatly and safely
  • Inspect and maintain electric pallet jacks and pallet stackers
• Observe all the safety requirements of Bob’s Discount Furniture
• All other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge and ability to utilize an RF scanner
• Ability to safely and effectively utilize various equipment such as forklift, cherry picker, etc.

Compensation

• Starting hourly pay at $18.00 - $20.00/hour (Based on Experience)

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a Warehouse atmosphere.
• Ability to communicate proactively and effectively including comprehending and communicating detailed instructions, reading and writing, and having knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures as required by the position.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Solid knowledge and competence on RF scanner.
• Must be at least 18 years old to be considered for employment with Bob’s.

Physical Demands

• Able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, push and handle and move items weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center.
• Move objects up to 250 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations
• Stand and walk continuously to perform job functions.
• Standing, walking, lifting, and arranging product: 90%
• Sitting: 5%
• Desk or phone work: 5%
