Postion Summary: The Men's Baseball Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach in cultivating an environment for spiritual growth for all team members; In addition to leading all aspects of the college's pitching staff and assisting the head coach with the overall operation of the baseball program. This position plays a vital role in the development of student-athletes both on and off the field by promoting: competitive excellence, academic success, and adherence to institutional and conference policies.
Duties And Responsibilities
Collegiate level baseball playing experience or ability is a requirement for this job. The assistant coach must be able to throw quality batting practice, hit consistent fungo, and have a background or ability to instruct pitchers.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Attend all practices and games; some overnight trips will occur
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive pitching program focused on player development, performance, injury prevention, and competitive success
- Monitor pitcher workload and collaborate with athletic training staff regarding player health and recovery
- Coach during games, including assisting with offensive and defensive strategies as assigned by the Head Coach
- Throw quality batting practice
- Ability to hit fungo
- Train hitters
- Attend all fundraising events for the team
- Drive school vehicles
- Assist with identifying, evaluating, and recruiting qualified student-athletes

- Strong history and demonstrated life practices of promoting a Biblically based world view including a Biblical philosophy of competition
- Demonstrated knowledge of pitching mechanics, player development, and game strategy
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience, preferably with pitching responsibilities
