What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journalism & Mass Communication Department Monitor (Student) position at Bob Jones University?
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check out/check in equipment for JMC students from AV room
- Sanitize/wipe department equipment, computer keyboards, and lobby furniture to prevent the spread of COVID-19
- Check and replenish classroom and copier supplies
- Oversee online AV reservation system
- Assist JMC students using radio and video studio equipment
- Greet visitors or BJU students/staff and help them find who or what they are looking for
- Enforce JMC Department and student life policies
- During evenings and weekends, check JMC Department rooms every 30 minutes, be aware of who is in the department, and provide assistance as needed (three floors of GFAC building)
- Compile JMC student list, studio sign-out sheets, and other forms at the beginning of each semester
- Create daily announcement slides for BJU digital signage monitors
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University
- Must be a JMC major, minor, Media Technology major, or have completed one of these classes: Com 200 Fundamentals of Broadcasting, or Com 230 Introduction to Media Production.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point
- Knowledge of audio and video equipment used in JMC classes
- Able to confront students if needed
- Problem-solving ability
- Pleasant personality; honest and dependable
