POSITION SUMMARY: Performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Install and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Performs a variety of complicated tasks
- May lead and direct the work of others
- Typically reports to a supervisor or manager
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques
- Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent BJU in an ethical and professional manner
- Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people
- Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site
- A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
- Professional in appearance and presentation
- Effective in oral and written communication
- PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES:
- Freon certification
- C.E. in HVAC

- Drive a motorized vehicle
- Work around machines
- Work above floor level
- Exposed to dust, fumes, gases
- Exposed to marked changes in temperature
- Work outdoors in varying weather
