Ceramic Studio Assistant (Student)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Ceramic Studio Assistant supports the daily operations of the ceramics studio by preparing clay, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and assisting with production needs. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, and a willingness to learn additional tasks as needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Mix and prepare clay for studio use.
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Organize materials and supplies to ensure efficient workflow.
• Assist with kiln loading and unloading.
• Support glaze preparation, including measuring and mixing glazes.
• Follow all safety protocols and studio guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support studio operations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and carry materials as needed.
• Interest in ceramics and willingness to learn studio processes.
• Prior experience in ceramics or studio work is a plus but not required.
