What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biblical Studies and Theology Faculty position at Bob Jones University?
POSITION SUMMARY: The individual in this position shall function as a professor in the faculty of the School of Theology & Global Leadership. He will be assigned to teach courses commensurate with his qualifications. He may also be tasked with special initiatives or given oversight or involvement in projects or areas deemed helpful to the strengthening and growth of the School of Theology & Global Leadership and Seminary.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To teach courses in biblical studies and theology, and with at least 18 graduate credits in Old Testament, the ability to teach various Old Testament exposition, theology and language courses.
- To be involved in the personal discipleship and intentional mentoring of students in the School of Theology & Global Leadership (and Seminary).
- To carefully advise STGL prospective students and students regarding curriculum and programs.
- To assist in the recruitment and overall growth of the academic programs
- To collaborate with colleagues in curriculum development and STGL-wide improvement
- To serve on university or school committees as necessary
- To grow continually as a STGL faculty member and contribute to their field of teaching and study.
- Communicates the religious beliefs of BJU to students and student affiliates
- Answers questions concerning faith, doctrine and creed of BJU to constituents, students, or those inquiring about BJU

- Passion about the mission of BJU
- Ability to multitask, manage projects and organize responsibilities
- Effective oral and written communication
- Reliance on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Initiative, self-motivation and a strong work ethic
- Strong administrative skills
