PAY GRADE:  2026-2027 Teacher Salary Schedule 

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE 

Coordinate, facilitate, and monitor the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) process to ensure compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Texas Education Code, and State Board of Education (SBOE) regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS 
Education 
 

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university 
  • Valid Texas Special Education certification 
  • Valid Texas Mid-Management, Principal, or other appropriate administrative certification, preferred 

 

 

Special Knowledge/Skills/Ability: 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of special education laws and procedures  
  • Knowledge of evaluation procedures and eligibility criteria  
  • Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)  
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills  
  • Ability to interpret state and federal regulations  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills  
  • Ability to facilitate meetings   
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and special education management software  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality  

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of Three years of teaching experience  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

  • Schedule and facilitate Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings.  
  • Serve as a liaison between campuses, families, special education staff, and district departments to ensure timely, compliant, and student-centered special education services. 
  • Ensure all required ARD timelines are met in accordance with IDEA and TEA requirements.  
  • Review ARD documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.  
  • Coordinate participation of required committee members.  
  • Ensure appropriate parent notification and participation.  
  • Facilitate collaborative decision-making during ARD meetings.  
  • Monitor district compliance with state and federal special education regulations.  
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records.  
  • Review IEPs for legal compliance and instructional alignment.  
  • Monitor annual reviews, reevaluations, and transition timelines.  
  • Assist campuses with correction of compliance findings.  
  • Support district preparation for TEA monitoring, audits, and compliance reviews.  
  • Collaborate with diagnosticians, speech-language pathologists, related service providers, teachers, counselors, and campus administrators.  
  • Provide guidance regarding special education procedures.  
  • Assist in resolving concerns regarding special education services.  
  • Assist with implementation of district special education initiatives.  
  • Monitor campus compliance data.  
  • Analyze ARD trends and recommend process improvements.  
  • Assist with transition planning for students.  
  • Support dispute resolution and mediation efforts when appropriate.  
  • Perform other duties assigned. 
     

WORKING CONDITIONS 

 

Equipment Used: 

Computer with appropriate software, printer, calculator, copier, facsimile machine, overhead projector, and other specialized equipment that is particularly unique to the teaching assignment.

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; maintain emotional control under stress.

  4. Frequent attendance at campus meetings. 
  5. May have exposure to biological hazards. 
  6. Occasional moderate lifting.

Bob Hope School is a growing open-enrollment public charter school (non-profit) providing parents a choice in their child's education. Bob Hope Elementary is a Montessori / Dual-Language campus.? Instruction is conducted in a two-way immersion program, where teachers fluent in English teach ELA and those fluent in Spanish teach SLA and are supported by teacher aides with a strong command of both languages. Campuses are located in Port Arthur, Beaumont, Baytown, Pasadena, and Cy-Fair, Texas.
