Statement of Purpose:
This position is primarily responsible for effectively operating the fixed asset process within our ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics 365. This position is responsible for the monthly fixed assets accounting process which includes capitalizations, retirements, monthly accruals, and month end reporting. Additional assignments will include documentation of our procedures and internal controls and assisting with the annual audit.
Accountabilities:
Independent performance of the following:
- Recording fixed asset additions, retirements, disposals, depreciation, and transfers.
- Completion of each period end close and year end close.
- Ad hoc fixed asset reporting requests.
- Organization of fixed asset inventory counting and compilation of findings.
- Collaboration with other departments such as IT, Purchasing, Operations to ensure proper capitalization of capex spend.
- Completion of month end general ledger account reconciliation using Blackline, our account reconciliation tool.
- Provides all necessary documentation to support our calendar year and fiscal year end audits.
Knowledge:
- Basic accounting and analytical skills required.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, communication, and research skills.
- Strong MS Office skills, including word and excel.
- Flexible and adaptable to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or ability to work in ambiguous situations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Diligent work ethic and high energy level.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Experience working with ERP applications.
