Responsibilities:
The Master Electrician is responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of all electrical systems, including systems additions or modifications on a variety of plant equipment and facilities. They will be responsible for working on all electrical systems that 480 volts and below at the Hillsdale location.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install and monitor performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments or replacements.
- Create, maintain, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment in the plant.
- Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate testing equipment and tools. This may include control hardware, including PLC’s and HMI’s.
- Partner with machine operators on equipment troubleshooting automation needs to increase efficiency.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints.
- Fabricate/weld parts as needed.
- Leads, trains and/or guides other electricians or qualified maintenance personnel in applicable procedures and techniques.
- Perform building, routine and preventative maintenance, including repairs to facility equipment – mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic and/or hydraulic.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of both equipment and supplies.
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Performs other jobs duties as required.
Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Possession of a current State of Michigan Master Electrician certification, and maintain certification as required.
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S (including Kaizen and Gemba).
