Location: Charleston, WV | Part-Time (Mon–Fri, 1:00–5:30 PM, approx. 23 hrs/week)

We are seeking a dedicated High-Needs Support Paraprofessional to join our team and assist students who require additional behavioral and emotional support during program hours.
Position Summary:The High-Needs Support Paraprofessional will work closely with the Afterschool Program Site Coordinator to provide individualized and small-group support to students with high needs. This role focuses on creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where all children can succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small-group behavioral and emotional support to high-needs students.
- Assist in implementing strategies that promote positive behavior and emotional regulation.
- Help maintain a calm, structured, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Support students during enrichment activities, transitions, and daily routines.
- Follow behavior plans and direction provided by the Site Coordinator and Program Director.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure consistent and effective support strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional conduct at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in child development, psychology, education, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with children who have behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges strongly preferred.
- Understanding of positive behavior support and de-escalation techniques.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with staff and supervisors.
- Must pass background checks as required by state and program regulations.
