Bob-Boyd Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is looking for a motivated, dependable Automotive Service / Used Vehicle Technician to join our growing service team.
This position will perform general automotive service and repair while also helping inspect, diagnose, and recondition our used vehicle inventory. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can identify safety and mechanical concerns, and understands the importance of getting quality used vehicles safely and efficiently ready for our customers.

What You'll Do:
- Perform thorough used vehicle inspections on trade-ins and pre-owned inventory.
- Identify mechanical, safety, maintenance, and reconditioning needs.
- Inspect brakes, tires, suspension, steering, fluids, belts, hoses, batteries, lighting, HVAC systems, and other major vehicle components.
- Perform necessary repairs to prepare used vehicles for retail sale.
- Diagnose warning lights, drivability concerns, noises, leaks, and other mechanical issues.
- Complete maintenance services needed to bring vehicles up to dealership standards.
- Verify repairs and perform quality-control checks before vehicles are released for sale.
- Clearly document inspection results, recommended repairs, completed work, and parts needed.
- Work efficiently to help maintain a strong used vehicle reconditioning turnaround time.
- Communicate additional concerns discovered during the repair or inspection process.
- Work on multiple makes and models, not just Ford, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive technician experience preferred.
- Used vehicle inspection or reconditioning experience is a plus.
- Ability to inspect and diagnose vehicles from a variety of manufacturers.
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety and mechanical systems.
- Ability to accurately identify needed repairs without unnecessary work.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment.
- Ability to prioritize repairs and help keep used inventory moving through the reconditioning process.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to quality workmanship.
