Boats By George is seeking a paid social media intern for the summer, with the potential for this role to evolve into a full-time salaried position, complete with benefits, upon the completion of the internship.
We're looking for someone who loves photography and videography, and enjoys telling stories and using humor to capture our audience's attention. We expect the role to be fun with a lot of creative freedom. Most importantly, you must be able to capture our personalities and share them with the world. Reporting primarily to the Content Director, the Marketing Intern will gain valuable professional experience by assisting the marketing department with its advertising and promotional campaigns.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Writing, directing, and filming engaging content for distribution
- Fulfilling daily photography needs, including images/video of inventory and operations for website listings and social channels
- Drafting copy for social media, newsletters, blogs, and promotional emails
- Maintaining and curating Boats By George social media platforms with guidance from our Content Director
- Creating relevant interesting and engaging organic content
- Assisting in the planning, organization, and execution of marketing events, trade shows, or Showroom events
- Engaging with followers and commenters of official channels
- Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service
- Driving between locations to capture relevant content in service, at the marina, and at the showroom
- Other Marketing Related Duties
Requirements and Qualifications
- Driver's License and clean driving record
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a marketing, communications, or related program
- Experience in graphic design and/or photography/videography highly desired
- Strong familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Workspace
- Experience with creative tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
- Highly organized, proactive, and creative
- Film and Photography Production Equipment (Cameras, Lenses, Etc.) Company willing to provide equipment if full time work pans out
Compensation
- An hourly pay rate of $18 - $22
Work Schedule
- 1 May to 1 October (Flexible)
- Monday - Friday position, from 9 AM - 5 PM.
- Weekends availability for special events
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
