Boat Works, located in South Windsor, CT, has been servicing consumers, commercial clients, manufactures and municipalities for 35 years. Known for strong customer service and high-quality repair, Boat Works is seeking a full time administrative assistant.
Duties:
- Assume receptionist duties, greet customers, and refer them to appropriate staff members, answer phone, route calls, and take messages.
- Assist staff with administrative duties as requested.
- Attend to customers and assist with needs when primary staff is not available.
- Maintain and update customer information, company databases, email and mailing lists.
- Oversee and manage various social media sites and maintain and update company website as required.
- Assist with A/P & A/R and maintain filing system.
- Assist in preparing and submitting various sales and registration documents.
- Compile statistical information for owner and managers as requested.
- Type and word process documents as needed.
- Order office supplies and monitor inventory.
- Maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships with employees, peers, and consumers.
- Assist with special event preparation and execution.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team.
- Minimum two years clerical or administrative experience.
- Typing skills with at least 50 WPM.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with Social Media sites such as Facebook, Market Place and Instagram
- Knowledge of general office machines and telephone system.
- Sensitivity to the needs of persons with disabilities.
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others.
- High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information.
As an administrative assistant, you must be self-directed, organized and have strong computer skills. Guidance and direction are readily available but strong work performance and self leadership is the responsibility of the employee and expected.
