We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our growing team here at Boat Town. As the oldest family-owned dealership started in 1961 in Central Texas specializing in luxury watercraft, Boat Town is excited to be growing quickly and opening this role as part of our team’s expansion. Our team prides itself on professionalism and acting with integrity, and the ideal candidate will have a passion for boating and the marine industry. They should also bring a strong track record of sales success to the role.
General Responsibilities:
- Generating leads and developing new business through networking and relationship building
- Providing exceptional customer service and support to clients, both in-person and over the phone/email
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of our products and services, and staying up-to-date on industry developments, trends and trainings
- Achieving or exceeding sales targets and contributing to the growth of the company
- Collaborating with team members and cross-functional teams to drive sales and support overall company goals
- Assist team in loading and unloading of boats as needed.
- Moving various units around the lot as well as in and out of the showroom for sales team.
- Assisting in proper administrative paperwork and administrative duties in the sales department.
- Actively seek, identify and obtain new prospects in ways that lead to increased sales.
- Successfully maintain and enhance ongoing customer relationships through timely follow up communications that lead to repeat business per company policy, including in-process, current and past customers.
- Proactively support and work with other employees, departments and/or locations to give the customer a seamless experience in ways that promote teamwork.
Required Skills:
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong relationships with clients
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong time management and organizational skills
- Proven track record of successful sales experience, preferably in the boating or marine industry
- Proficiency in POS systems and sales software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with marine products, boating equipment, and industry trends
- Previous sales experience in the marine or outdoor industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of boating and marine products
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field is preferred but not required
