Role Description
We’re looking for a Senior Gameplay Engineer who can build and ship complete games, from first prototype to polished release. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in small teams, takes extreme ownership, and enjoys turning ideas into playable reality.
You’ll be responsible for core gameplay systems, technical architecture, rapid prototyping, and helping shape the creative direction of multiple projects built in Unity.
Key Responsibilities
- Build complete gameplay experiences in Unity
- Architect and implement clean, scalable gameplay systems that can grow from prototype to production.
- Rapidly prototype new mechanics, iterate based on playtesting, and refine for fun and clarity.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the team both internal and external, but be fully capable of working independently.
- Own technical decisions around performance, tooling, and gameplay architecture.
- Debug complex gameplay issues and optimize for performance and stability.
- Contribute to development tools: Board SDK, version control, build pipelines, and technical documentation.
Qualifications
Required
- 8 years of professional game development experience or equivalent shipped titles.
- Deep, hands-on experience with Unity (C#).
- Proven ability to build an entire game or major gameplay systems independently.
- Experience shipping at least one commercially released game.
Desired
- Experience working on small teams or indie-scale projects.
- Familiarity with multiplayer games (synchronous, asynchronous, splitscreen, etc).
- Good visual and interaction design instincts; able to implement with an eye toward usability and overall gamefeel.
- Android touch screen experience.
- Tooling or editor extension development in Unity.
- Comfort working with placeholder art and rough UX early in development.
