PURPOSE OF JOB
The Project Manager supports the district’s bond-funded capital program by coordinating the planning, design, construction, and closeout of assigned projects. This role ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with district goals, school needs, and voter-approved bond requirements. The Project Manager collaborates closely with internal teams, school communities, and external partners to maintain project momentum, resolve issues, and support transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities)
Project Management
- Manage assigned bond-funded capital projects from planning and scoping through design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
- Track and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and procurement activities to support timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Coordinate the work of architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and other external partners to ensure adherence to district standards and project requirements.
- Work with school principals, district administrators, maintenance and operations teams, and instructional leaders to ensure project alignment with school needs and operational considerations.
- Assist in the development of RFPs, bid packages, board items, and contracts in accordance with district policies and procedures.
Design & Construction Oversight
- Review design documents, cost estimates, change orders, value engineering proposals, and construction plans for accuracy and alignment with project goals.
- Participate in OAC meetings and conduct on-site assessments to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with regulatory, safety, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate required inspections, documentation, and reporting to ensure timely approvals and project milestones.
- Support efforts to minimize disruption to school operations and maintain safe learning environments during construction.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready project records.
Communications, Collaboration & Engagement
- Provide clear and timely project updates to district leadership, school communities, and stakeholders.
- Participate in community engagement activities and collaborate with design and construction teams to incorporate stakeholder feedback into project decisions.
- Support the department’s efforts in providing project updates for use in presentations, website content, and public materials.
- Represent the district at meetings, school events, and community forums as needed.

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Planning, Construction, Engineering or related field.
- Experience may be substituted for education.
- Two (2) years’ experience in the design/construction industry.
- Detail-oriented and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong competency in oral and written communication skills.
