PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays a vital role in driving the success of KCPS’s strategic talent initiatives. This position ensures the compliance and continuous improvement of key programs and partnerships, including Teach to Lead, KCPS Grow Our Own, career pathways, etc.
Position Summary:
As a core member of the Talent Acquisition team, This role will play a key part in KCPS’s recruiting and retention efforts, with a primary focus on advancing talent acquisition through career pathways and strategic partnerships. The position will collaborate closely with community organizations and university program partners to support individuals pursuing alternative educator certification routes. By fostering strong relationships and creating supportive systems, this role will help build sustainable pipelines into the education profession.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pathway Program Facilitation
- Facilitate and support the development and implementation of partnership programs that promote candidate growth opportunities and ensure alignment with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to help assess candidate needs, enhance program effectiveness, and provide ongoing support and resources.
- Assist with resource allocation to ensure programs are running efficiently.
- Help track pathway partnership program data, including enrollment, candidate progress, and certification completions.
Talent Acquisition
- Assist with talent acquisition initiatives that align with KCPS’s educator pathway programs, including participation in college visits, career fairs, and recruitment events as needed.
- Provide logistical and programmatic support to ensure pathway candidates are represented and engaged during recruitment activities.
- Support screening process for incoming candidates in our talent tracking system.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to help identify opportunities for outreach and partnership development that strengthen educator pipelines.
- Contribute to the creation of materials and messaging that promote KCPS’s talent opportunities.
- Provide support for New Hire Orientation, contributing to a welcoming and informative onboarding experience aligned with talent development goals.
- Contribute to other recruitment-related efforts as needed to support the broader goals of the Talent Acquisition team.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Stay current with federal, state, and district regulations related to partnership programs; primarily alternative routes to teaching certifications.
- Prepare and submit required reports, including grant applications and participant data.
- Conduct regular program evaluations to assess impact and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with district personnel, school leaders, and external agencies to coordinate services and resources that support classified programs.
- Serve as a liaison between the district and organizations to enhance program offerings.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in education, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in HR, Education, or Talent Acquisition
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five (5) or more years K12 teaching experience.
- Hold current teaching certification.
- Experience in managing and overseeing programs; in an educational setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership and organizational abilities.
- Experience with data analysis and evaluation.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Length of work year: 12 months 7.5 hours per day/5 days per week

KCPS Defined Benefit Pension plan – mandatory 9.0% contribution effective 1/1/16 is required from employees and matched by KCPS; Voluntary retirement savings plans are also available.
