Shift Type: In person, 12 months (7.5 hrs day / 37.5 hrs week)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Position Summary:

The Human Resource Specialist oversees the onboarding of new hires by managing pre-employment requirements, maintaining employee files, and working with stakeholders to ensure proper staffing. In addition to supporting new hires, this role is responsible for maintaining accurate records for current staff, ensuring compliance with district policies. The Specialist plays a key part in fostering a smooth onboarding experience while supporting the district’s ongoing staffing needs.

 

What You’ll Be Doing: 

    • Managing the Pre Employment process. 
    • Ensure end-to-end new hire process completion for all candidates. 
    • Successful implementation knowledge of HR onboarding not limited to I-9, backgrounds and all required documentation. 
    • Responsible for confirming Position Control Number and vacancy. 
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Manage employee data. 
    • Ensure successful management and processing of employee data. 
    • Responsible for accurate and timely data entry. 
    • Strong problem solving skills (identify, analyze, research, evaluate, resolve)
    • Process accurate data management while collaborating with various departments. 
    • Thorough understanding and management of position allocation reports and sharing out relative data with business partners.
    • Active participant in position allocation review and budget planning process.
  • Championing employee experience and engagement
    • Manage processes that enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention across the district.
    • Proficient at professional communication among team members and internal/external business partners.
    • Collaborate with the various teams, identify challenges, and implement solutions that support a positive and inclusive HR experience. 
  • Supporting Onboarding & Integration:
    • Support a comprehensive onboarding program that ensures a smooth transition for new hires into the district’s culture and operations.
    • Provide exceptional communication and customer service while working closely with various departments to align with each department's needs and goals.
    • Successful at managing multiple tasks and varying deadlines. 
    • This role is versatile and requires multiple projects and other duties as assigned as it pertains to the ongoing success of this position.

To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To:

  • Bring Expertise and Vision:
    • A high school diploma or equivalent. 
    • 3 years of experience in Human Resources

    • Degree in Human Resources or related field
    • Experience working with ERP LINQ, Powerschool, Microsoft Suite
    • HR experience in the K-12 education sector.
