POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hospitable Barback who is eager to learn more about how the bar operates through first-hand experience of supporting our Bartenders. Barbacks assist with bar opening and closing procedures and perform various behind-the-bar tasks such as restocking, preparing garnishes and assist in providing an exceptional beverage experience to our guests. This is a tipped position.

BARBACK RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

• Have full knowledge of our restaurant's food offerings and beverage program
• Complete tasks related to stocking, replenishing and the preparation of beverages under the guidance of the bar staff
• Properly handle cash and inventory sheets if needed
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar and proper sanitation of work area, including the service equipment and storage in the bar area
• Assist the Bartenders during rush hour
• Follow alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and dealing with intoxicated guests
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure a smooth and an efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Manager on duty or immediate supervisor
• Excel in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
• Embody and deliver on exceptional service and hospitality

REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years of previous/relevant experience in a high-end, high-volume restaurant
• Relevant certificates, licenses (Ex. Servsafe) or registrations including a valid Food Handler Card (Must have upon hire)
• Knowledge and compliance with food and beverage regulations, safety laws and proper sanitation regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Suites: Outlook, Word, Excel; Open Table and Restaurant POS System
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
• Positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
• Flexible schedule and be available to work daytime, evening and/or weekend shifts
