Job Summary:

We are seeking a mid-level Java Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in Java backend development and Angular front-end engineering to support a large-scale enterprise modernization initiative. This role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable applications while contributing to a broader transformation effort.

The position is a 12-month contract based in Jersey City, NJ or New York City, with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite). This is a hands-on development role ideal for engineers who can confidently articulate their work and contribute across the full stack.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full Stack Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Java (Spring Boot) and Angular
• Backend Services: Build and enhance RESTful APIs and backend services to support scalable enterprise systems
• Front-End Development: Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces and workflows using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Modernization Efforts: Contribute to the re-engineering and transformation of legacy systems into modern architectures
• Collaboration: Work closely with product owners, QA, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions
• Code Quality: Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and ensure best practices in development
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify and resolve application issues while improving performance across systems
• DevOps Support: Assist with CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and maintaining stable environments
• Agile Participation: Engage in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives within an Agile framework
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3–6 years of hands-on software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for backend development
• Solid experience with Angular and modern front-end technologies (TypeScript, HTML, CSS)
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server)
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and software engineering best practices
• Experience with Git and version control workflows
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
• Exposure to AI development tools (e.g., Windsurf, Claude)
  
  

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working within microservices architectures
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker
• Exposure to automated testing frameworks (frontend and backend)
• Understanding of web application and API security best practices
• Experience working in enterprise-level or standalone development environments
