Job Summary
BNY is seeking a Fund Accounting Analyst to support Record-to-Report (R2R) accounting processes within a client onboarding and fund conversion environment. This role is responsible for delivering accurate, timely financial information while ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), regulatory requirements, and both local and consolidated GAAP standards.
This position offers exposure to derivatives and fund accounting processes, making it a strong opportunity for candidates looking to build in-demand skills within financial services.
The role operates on a hybrid schedule in Lake Mary, FL (4 days onsite, 1 day remote).

Key Responsibilities
- Record-to-Report (R2R) Support: Assist in end-to-end R2R processes including transaction processing, financial close, consolidation, and reporting activities.
- General Ledger & Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data within the general ledger.
- Account Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts and financial data to validate balances and identify discrepancies.
- Financial Data Analysis: Identify, investigate, and resolve exceptions or variances within financial data to ensure reporting accuracy.
- Financial Close Support: Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
- Regulatory & SOX Compliance: Support finance processes that adhere to SOX controls and regulatory requirements.
- Client Onboarding & Fund Conversion: Assist with accounting activities related to onboarding new clients and fund conversions, including data validation and transition support.
- Audit & Reporting Support: Assist with audit requests, ad hoc reporting, and special projects as needed.
- Process Improvement & Metrics: Support tracking of performance metrics and contribute to process improvement initiatives across accounting workflows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Relevant experience in accounting or finance
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, reconciliations, reporting)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in financial markets and securities
- Experience in fund accounting or mutual funds
- Experience with accounting platforms such as PeopleSoft, Eagle, or InvestOne
- Background in financial services firms (e.g., asset management, custody, or banking)
- Experience supporting client onboarding or fund conversion activities
- Exposure to derivatives or capital markets products
