Job Summary:
We are seeking a Trade Operations Specialist to join our team in Lake Mary, Florida, supporting the day-to-day processing, validation, and migration of trade data within the fund accounting environment. This role is critical to ensuring client trades are recorded accurately and on time, serving as an essential entry point in the reporting and valuation cycle.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in financial instruments, Excel-based data analysis, and operational support within financial services, technology, or business-focused environments. This position will support both business-as-usual (BAU) activities and data migration efforts, while also contributing to process improvement initiatives, including the use of AI and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency. This role is based in Lake Mary, FL, with working hours of 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM ET.
Key Responsibilities:
• Trade Capture & Processing: Process client trade instructions in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring trades are entered correctly into the fund accounting system and available for downstream reporting and valuation activities.
• Data Validation & Reconciliation: Verify trade data uploads, reconcile booked instructions against trade blotters, and investigate upload failures or discrepancies to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Fund Accounting Support: Partner closely with fund accounting teams to support daily operational workflows, maintain data integrity, and assist with migration-related activities alongside BAU responsibilities.
• Exception Management: Monitor exception reports, identify root causes of breaks or failed uploads, and resolve issues through coordination with internal stakeholders and external parties.
• Security & Reference Data Setup: Support the setup of new securities and obtain required reference or pricing information from market data vendors such as Bloomberg.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively with global teams, clients, and internal business partners to ensure all trade instructions are processed correctly and escalated issues are resolved promptly.
• Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve team efficiency through process enhancements, automation, and practical application of AI-enabled tools in day-to-day operations.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant professional experience in financial services, technology, or a business-related environment
• Strong understanding of financial instruments and trade processing concepts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, Power Query, VLOOKUPs, macros, and other analytical tools
• Experience working with operational workflows, data validation, reconciliations, and exception handling
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work through trade-related issues collaboratively with team members and stakeholders
• Demonstrated adaptability and comfort working in a fast-changing environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required
Preferred Experience:
• Experience supporting fund accounting processes or trade capture / trade operations functions
• Familiarity with file formats and transmission methods such as SWIFT, XML, CSV, FTP, and SFTP
• Exposure to data migration efforts in an operational or accounting environment
• Interest in or experience applying AI tools, automation, or operational efficiency solutions in day-to-day work
• Strong learning agility and willingness to take ownership of increasingly complex tasks over time
