We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President to join our Controllers team. This role is located in Pittsburgh.
The Vice President, Accounting will play a critical role in advancing BNY's strategic pillars by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of accounting, reporting, and compliance activities. As a key member of the Accounting job family within the Finance/Accounting function, this position focuses on delivering high-quality financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and drive organizational growth. The role embodies BNY's principles by fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and client-centricity, ensuring that all accounting practices align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
• Oversee accounting activities for wind farm, leasing entities and other legal entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal policies.
• Support and participate in the month-end close process, including review and analysis of accounting results, reconciliations, and related reporting activities.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure robust internal controls.
• Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making and business planning initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Corporate Tax, the CRA investment team, and other key stakeholders to align accounting activities with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and inform strategic planning.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
• Typically 5-10 years of experience.
SKILLS:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strategic relationships and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Leadership skills with a focus on mentoring and developing team members.
